I agree – why does there need to be some new-fangled remake of every scary 80′s (or earlier era) movie? Stop it right now, movie makers of crap! There’s nothing scarier than watching the original of: Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Amityville Horror (especially #2 – talk about F-R-E-A-K-Y!) If you’re 12 or 13 (which was the age I started watching these types of movies) just watch the original versions and bypass the shitty remakes. And no, I didn’t walk up hill both ways in five feet of snow to school each day.
Because our childhood did not have advanced CGI.
Plus there is a major LACK of good NEW stories. It’s how the “biz” works. You honestly think youngER generations are going to watch movies form the 80′s? I sure as hell will, but film producers want to make their $$$$$$$ some how.
So stop bitching you are not going to change anything, every one knows the first go rounds are the best and scariest.
I know. Bitching never helps. But really, why mess with the good stuff? Did you know they’re remaking Red Dawn? Really? Red Dawn?
There’s gotta be new scripts out there. I’ll even take a fresh look at some old formulas. Space movies? Pirate movies? Ninja movies? Castaway movies? Cowboy movies? Come on, there has to be some fresh ideas out there so they can stop flushing our childhood movies down the toilet and making a young batch of movie viewers hate the hold ones too.
